indochina apartment, a renovation with spaciousness and openness
Indochina apartment is a landmark tower in centre SaiGon. Before this renovation, the layout of the apartment needed some reworking to maximise usable entertaining, working spaces and to create a sense of openness and spaciousness.
The original apartment was compartmentalised into usual living area. Therefore, the client’s brief for the project was to highlight the living area and make the apartment more open. Also, one bedroom turned into a studyroom to ensuite with the couple’s use. Staying away from the trap of stuffy city apartments, the dining room and kitchen open up fully to outside the terrace.
The entry was also designed more space instead of facing to bedroom’s door. Every element of furniture in the apartment is designed with all fitting and fixture being self designed. The end result is a very sophisticated and glamorous apartment, probably more so than the client would have initially envisaged.
